Teachers plan and teach a range of reading skills during the course of a year.  The learning intentions for each year group are set out in our progression framework, a copy of which can be seen below.  Teachers then make ongoing assessments against these learning intentions.  

Each term teachers will make an assessment as to whether your child is working at the expected level for their year group,  working beyond that level, or has not yet reached that expected standard.
