We appreciate that there has been much disruption to children's education over the past year and are therefore committed to ensuring that all children continue to receive a quality education should the need for remote learning arise.

Notification of Positive Covid 19 results before Christmas
Public Health England has agreed a six day window after the final day of teaching in which schools are asked to remain contactable so they can assist with contact tracing where necessary. This will allow enough time for positive Covid-19 cases to be confirmed by a test and for relevant contacts in the school to be traced.
Our alternative bubble friendly Christmas production is ready for everyone to enjoy. Well done to all who took part, whether supported by your teachers in school or parents at home. It is a true reflection of our school community who have stood together during these uncertain times.
Christmas is a great time to continue reading with your children. Perhaps Father Christmas will deliver them a new book to read. In this newsletter I have included ideas of what to read and fun activities for reading over the festive period.
Our arrangements for the end of term remain as published, school will close on Friday 18th December. Our staggered finish time, for social distancing, are as follows Year Six at 1:00pm, Year Three at 1:15pm, Year Five and Centre Children at 1:30pm and Year Four at 1:45pm.
The Christmas tree that was kindly donated by Santa Fir has now been received and over the weekend Santa's Elves have visited and transformed our foyer, outside the library, into an enchanting grotto for the children to enjoy.
We are very pleased to share with you the very exciting news about this year's Christmas lunch, from our catering company abm that will be available to all children on Wednesday 16th December.
Christmas tree winners! Thank you to so many parents and friends of the school for supporting Northmead in the great Christmas tree give away for schools run by Santa Fir. We are collecting our Christmas tree soon and will be putting it up in the foyer end of the library where everyone can enjoy it.

We have recently been updated by Surrey that infection rates continue to rise in Guildford, so we need to remain vigilant about wearing face coverings and maintaining social distancing. Please continue to follow the staggered drop off and pick up times, which are in place to reduce the number of people in the school grounds at the same time. For this reason please can you leave the school grounds promptly when you have collected your child, otherwise if you stop for a chat it increases the number of people waiting.
