NHS Nasal Flu Vaccination

The Child and Family Health Surrey Immunisation Team is visiting Northmead on Friday 4th October 2024 to deliver Influenza (flu) vaccinations via nasal spray.

Re: Your child’s flu vaccination is now due

This vaccination is recommended to help protect your child against influenza (flu). Flu can be an unpleasant illness and can cause serious complications. Vaccinating your child will also help to protect more vulnerable family and friends by preventing the spread of flu.

Further information can be found at the following link: Children's flu vaccine - NHS (www.nhs.uk) or https://youtu.be/TKSL5UWg4yg

We will be visiting your school on Friday 4th October 2024 to deliver flu vaccinations via nasal spray.

Please complete the e-consent form by 4pm on Monday 30th September 2024 by visiting:

• www.surreyimmunisations.co.uk and entering your school’s unique code SR125294

• If you do not want your child to receive a vaccine, then please fill in the ‘No’ box.

• If you do not want your child to receive the nasal spray vaccine on the basis of porcine gelatine, please fill in the ‘No’ box indicating this, and you will be given the opportunity to consent for an alternative vaccination. This vaccination is delivered by injection into the arm and does not contain any porcine gelatine. We will deliver this in school when we visit, if however you would like your child to receive this vaccination in a clinic, please contact us on the above number or email.

An automated email will be sent to you on completion of the e-consent form from school.immunisations@nhs.net . If you do not receive this, please check in your junk email.

Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)

By now your child should have had two doses of MMR to fully protect them. If your child has NOT had two doses of MMR, and you would like them to be protected, please complete the MMR consent form. Find out more about this vaccine at: MMR for all: general guide
