INTERVENTION TEACHER

Northmead Junior School (part of the Learning Partners Academy Trust) are looking to recruit an experienced and committed year 6 Intervention Teacher starting as soon as possible.

We require an excellent KS2 practitioner to join our thriving, well-established school to teach pupils in SATs Booster groups. The Intervention Teacher will be working closely with the Class Teachers to understand the pupils’ area of struggle to conduct small group interventions with them and track / monitor their progress. This role involves delivering a range of subjects including Maths and English, managing children’s behaviour and supporting their learning and individual needs.

This is a fixed term position until 15th May 2026, with the possibility to extend until the end of the school year. The hours of work are Monday to Friday from 1pm to 2.45pm. The salary is M6 £39,851 FTE (£10,728 pro rata per annum).

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Experience with KS2 interventions
  • Experience of teaching across KS2

TEACHING ASSISITANT

We are looking to recruit a passionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work with the class teacher to support the running of the classroom and focussing on the needs of children with SEN. This is your chance to work in a highly supportive and inclusive school where every child is valued as a unique individual. Hours of work: This is a term-time, fixed term contract starting as soon as possible until 31st August 2026, with possibility of extension. Term time only – 39 weeks a year - 30 hours per week – 8.30am to 3.15pm – Monday to Friday.

Salary range: £25,212 (£18,232.98 pro rata) - £13.43 per hour.

A typical day in the life of a teaching assistant:

· Assisting the teacher in routine classroom tasks.

· Preparing learning materials and setting up equipment.

· Assisting individual children or groups of children, some of them with special education needs.

· Contributing, where appropriate, to any discussion of pupils’ needs and progress.

· Making sure the learning environment is safe.

· Support pupil activities and behaviour.

· Participate in any relevant staff development activities.

· Assist in meeting the children’s needs for encouragement and reassurance.

· Liaising with parents.

· Following safeguarding policy and procedures.

The successful candidate will have:

· A calm, friendly manner and the ability to build rapport with pupils.

· Great verbal communication skills.

· Flexibility to adapt to constantly changing priorities.

· Ability to work well within a team.

· A commitment to equality and inclusion.

· The ability to reflect on and develop their own practice with support from colleagues and the Learning Partner Trust CPD programme.
